MeitouClient
Open-source Kenshi engine reimplementation in C# and .NET with Vulkan renderer
Visit meitou.kenshi.wiki ↗What is MeitouClient?
MeitouClient is an open-source reimplementation of the Kenshi game engine written in C# and .NET 10. It runs original game content, mods, and save files unchanged on a new Vulkan-based renderer, requiring only a legal copy of Kenshi to play. The project includes a launcher for Windows, Linux, and macOS that handles installation and updates.
The client offers two modes: Faithful reproduction of the original game, and Meitou default with optional enhancements like global illumination, long-distance shadows, increased render distances, and DLSS support. All graphical features are individually configurable. Performance targets 1080p at 144 FPS on mid-range hardware and runs on integrated GPUs. Built with agentic AI coding assistance and released under GPL-3.
