About vibetrend & how ranking works
Last updated: September 30, 2026
What is vibetrend.dev?
vibetrend.dev is a live leaderboard of products built with vibe coding, meaning apps made mostly by prompting an AI coding tool. We track products built with Lovable, Cursor, Claude Code, Bolt, v0, Replit Agent, Windsurf, Codex, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and Base44, and rank them by recent activity.
Where do the listings come from?
- Maker submissions. Anyone can submit a product they built.
- Automatic discovery. We scan Hacker News “Show HN” posts and public GitHub repositories that contain AI agent files such as
CLAUDE.md,.cursorrules,.windsurfrulesorGEMINI.md.
Every auto-discovered listing shows the evidence it was found from (the HN post or the agent file in the repo). The maker can claim it by adding a meta tag to their site or a DNS TXT record to their domain.
How is the trend score calculated?
For each product, we compute a score for every day:
- Upvotes × 1, capped at 50 per day
- Unique visits × 0.3
- New GitHub stars × 0.5, capped at 100 stars/day
- Hacker News points × 0.2
- +5 launch bonus on each of the first 3 days after launch
Daily scores are summed over the selected window with a 2-day half-life, so a point from two days ago counts half as much as a point from today. The windows are Today, 7 days and 30 days. Scores are recomputed every hour.
How do you keep the ranking fair?
- In the Today view, brand-new launches (under 48 hours old) are shuffled with a daily seed, so the first products posted each day don’t get a permanent head start.
- Votes from accounts less than 24 hours old count half.
- The upvote cap of 50 per day limits the effect of vote brigading.
Can you pay to rank higher?
No. Things we never do:
- Paid placement never affects rank.
- Sponsored placements are always labelled “Sponsored” and their links use
rel="sponsored". - Being listed is never conditional on linking back to vibetrend.dev.
See the sponsored placement policy for details.
Are links to listed products dofollow?
- Approved listings get normal (dofollow) links.
- Unapproved listings get
rel="nofollow ugc". - Sponsored placements get
rel="sponsored".
Who writes the product descriptions?
Makers write their own when they submit. For auto-discovered listings, an AI model drafts a short, factual description from the product’s own website or README. Makers can claim the listing and edit or replace that description at any time.
