Horizon
Minecraft: Java Edition 26.3 rewritten in Rust with 100% vanilla parity
Visit playhorizon.dev ↗What is Horizon?
Horizon is an unofficial Rust rewrite of Minecraft: Java Edition 26.3's client and game logic. It reads the same worlds, follows the same rules, and generates identical terrain as the Java version, verified by 281 differential harnesses that compare outputs between Horizon and vanilla. The project contains no Minecraft code or assets—it uses files from your own legally obtained copy of the game.
Horizon runs natively on Linux x86-64, macOS on Apple Silicon, and Windows x64. It's distributed through a launcher that installs the game, prepares resources from your existing Minecraft installation, and handles updates. The codebase is MIT-licensed and open source, built with Rust and verified to match vanilla behavior across all tested subsystems.
