Better Shot

Better Shot is a native macOS application for capturing screenshots, recording screen video, and editing both. It offers region, window, and fullscreen capture with OCR and color picking; screen recording with cursor tracking, face cam, and system audio; and a built-in video editor supporting multi-clip trimming, speed adjustment, transitions, captions, and 3D camera effects. The project describes itself as an open-source alternative to CleanShot X and Loom.

Designed for creators and professionals who need quick screen captures and polished recordings without subscriptions or cloud dependencies, Better Shot stores everything locally and optionally integrates with Cloudflare R2 for self-hosted sharing. It requires no account, subscription, or watermark, and is built with SwiftUI on macOS 13 or later.
