Six offline desktop apps for documents, sheets, slides, PDF, Git and Markdown
Visit office.elygpui.com ↗What is Ely Office?
Ely Office is a suite of six desktop applications built in Rust and GPUI for offline-first document and code work. Files remain stored locally in your folders with no account or cloud service required. The suite includes ElyDoc (word processing), ElyTable (spreadsheets), ElyShow (presentations), ElyPDF (PDF reading and editing with OCR), ElyTree (Git client), and ElyMark (Markdown editor). Each app uses specialized engines: LibreOfficeKit powers the office apps, MuPDF and Tesseract handle PDF functionality, and markdown-rs with mermaid rendering supports Markdown editing.
Ely Office is designed for users who need offline document tools without cloud dependencies. The project is open-source under MIT license and built with Claude Code assistance. Packaging is available for macOS, Linux, and Windows.
