Yapfast is a Discord client written in Rust that replaces Discord's Chromium-based desktop app with a native application. It uses the Slint UI toolkit and Skia for rendering, consuming about 40 MB of memory while idle compared to Discord's 800 MB, and opens to messages in 0.22 seconds from cache. The client supports servers, channels, DMs, voice calls, file attachments, threads, notifications, and customizable themes. It's designed for Windows 10 and 11 users seeking lower resource consumption. Built with Claude Code, the project is open source and available as beta version 0.1.0.
