Free My TV

Free My TV replaces Google TV's default home screen with a clean, ad-free interface. It displays your installed streaming apps on a glass shelf, shows three trending picks hourly from TMDB, includes weather forecasts and crypto prices, and automatically adjusts between light and dark modes based on your local sunset. The interface runs at 60 fps and uses 60% less memory than stock. Installation takes about ten minutes via USB debugging with no root access required, and a single button restores the original home screen anytime.

Built for anyone tired of sponsored content and slow performance on their TV. The project is open source under MIT license and was developed using Claude Code.
