Visit gnomeria.github.io ↗What is usbtree?
usbtree is a terminal application for viewing and monitoring USB device trees across Linux, macOS, and Windows. It displays connected hubs, device classes, connection speeds, and hot-plug events in a live-updating interface. The tool requires no root privileges or external libraries, distributed as a single static binary around 1.5 MB.
Built entirely in Rust using the nusb library, usbtree offers features like friendly device naming via USB ID databases, real-time bandwidth monitoring on Linux, safe device ejection, and a PCI device view. The maker built it with Claude Code.
