Ticking Away
Dark Side of the Moon watchface that refracts time into a rainbow
Visit clebert.github.io ↗What is Ticking Away?
Ticking Away is a watchface inspired by Pink Floyd's iconic album artwork. A prism refracts light into a rainbow spectrum to display the time, with the minute hand acting as a light ray and the rainbow pointing to the hour. The interface offers customizable visual modes including different color styles, glow effects, and rendering options.
Built in Zig, it runs across multiple platforms: as a web app via WebAssembly, on a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W with an e-ink display for wall clocks, on bare-metal microcontrollers, and on Pebble smartwatches. The maker used Claude Code to accelerate development while maintaining full code ownership and architectural control.
