Furifont
Japanese font that renders furigana automatically without markup
Visit furifont.antfu.me ↗What is Furifont?
Furifont is a Japanese typeface that displays furigana (ruby text) directly in the font glyphs, eliminating the need for HTML markup, JavaScript, or plugins. The text remains plain while the font handles all furigana rendering through ligatures—when the font encounters a kanji word, it substitutes a glyph containing both the kanji and its reading above it. Built by compiling Source Han Sans JP or Source Han Serif JP with a dictionary of thousands of words, it works in any application supporting custom fonts. Includes Sans and Serif variants in Hiragana and Romaji, regular and variable weights, available as OpenType and WOFF2. Users can apply it via bookmarklet or userscript on websites, or build custom versions with different base fonts and furigana styles.
