Telegram Archive
Self-hosted Telegram backup with web viewer for messages, media, and edits
Visit geiserx.github.io ↗What is Telegram Archive?
Telegram Archive is a self-hosted backup tool for one or more Telegram accounts that runs on your own machine via Docker or Python. It stores messages with formatting, media files, edits, deletions, reactions, and other metadata to SQLite or PostgreSQL. A web viewer mimics the Telegram app interface, letting you search and browse archived content without the viewer ever contacting Telegram servers.
The tool captures scheduled incremental backups with optional real-time listening for new messages and changes. It preserves earlier versions of edited messages, keeps deleted messages marked as deleted, supports multiple accounts in one archive, and offers features like voice transcription, custom themes, share links for specific chats, and a changelog feed. According to the source, the project was built using Claude Code.
