sempods
Open specification for decentralized data pods under user control
Visit sempods.org ↗What is sempods?
sempods is an open specification and reference implementation for semantic data pods—HTTP-addressable data spaces where you store structured linked data and grant apps, websites, and AI agents permission to access it. Instead of your calendar, tasks, notes, and conversations scattered across different silos, sempods lets you host your own pod and decide which applications can read or write to specific data contexts.
The system combines standard web technologies (HTTP URIs, RDF, SPARQL, OAuth/OIDC, and MCP) with a permission model based on named graphs. Apps query your pod using SPARQL without needing API keys or SDKs. The maker indicates the reference implementation was built with Claude Code, Cursor, and other AI coding tools.
