Rocky
Typed SQL compiler for data warehouses with compile-time checks and lineage
Visit rocky-data.dev ↗What is Rocky?
Rocky is a Rust-based control plane for warehouse transformation pipelines that type-checks SQL models and reports breaking changes before execution. It works with Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, and DuckDB while keeping storage and compute in your existing warehouse. The tool provides column-level lineage traced at compile time, branch and replay workflows for git-like version control on warehouse data, per-model cost attribution, and declarative tests that run locally on DuckDB.
Rocky catches type mismatches, contract violations, and dialect-specific issues at compile time rather than in production. It includes features like AI-assisted SQL drafting, governance controls with column classification and masking policies, and audit trails. The project describes itself as built with Claude-assisted code generation.
