Polywise is an open-source platform that combines AI agents with personal knowledge management. Users can capture content, build context, and run specialized agents on top of it—all locally or self-hosted. It addresses the problem of stateless AI by turning saved content into reusable context that agents can retrieve across sessions, eliminating the need to re-explain work repeatedly.

The system features agent groups with personalized capabilities, multiple retrieval methods (full-text, vector, graph-based), and a knowledge distillation process that improves understanding over time. It's available as a CLI tool or desktop app, integrating sessions, notes, projects, and agents in one place rather than scattered across separate tools.
