Papercrane-cli is a command-line tool designed for Claude Code users to build and publish business intelligence dashboards. Instead of adding AI to existing BI platforms, it inverts the approach by building the dashboard tool around Claude Code itself. Users can authenticate data sources, create visualizations, and publish shareable dashboards—all through Claude Code prompts.

The tool solves three core problems: dashboards built by agents are typically static snapshots rather than live data views, authentication across data sources is complex and non-portable, and sharing requires manual setup. Papercrane wraps dashboards in Next.js apps with authenticated server code that keeps data current. It's free for Claude Code subscribers and requires no additional setup beyond the Claude subscription.
