mcpmu is a multiplexer and gateway for Model Context Protocol servers, letting you configure MCP servers once and share them across Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf, and other MCP clients. It reduces context overhead by compressing tool schemas through discovery calls and lets you organize servers into namespaces for different workflows.
The tool runs locally on your machine with both terminal and web UIs for managing servers, and supports both local stdio and remote HTTP endpoints. You can set per-agent tool permissions at the gateway, keep MCP metadata intact during proxying, and hot-reload configuration without restarting upstream servers. It's free and open source under the MIT license.
