Facet
Local AI photo scoring, culling and gallery with face recognition
Visit ncoevoet.github.io ↗What is Facet?
Facet is a self-hosted photo engine that analyzes images locally on your machine without cloud services, accounts, or subscriptions. It scores every photo across nine dimensions including aesthetic quality, composition, and face sharpness, then culls bursts, blinks, and near-duplicates to surface your best shots. The tool includes a web gallery for browsing and organizing your library with semantic search, face recognition, and multiple view modes.
Designed for photographers managing large libraries, Facet runs on CPU or GPU and supports JPG, RAW, HEIF, and other formats. It integrates with Lightroom, darktable, and digiKam via sidecar files, and can receive uploads from mobile apps via WebDAV. According to build evidence, the project was developed using Claude Code.
