dumbtv disables ads, tracking, autoplaying content, and update prompts on Amazon Fire TV devices using ADB (Android Debug Bridge). No root access required, no apps are removed unless you specify them, and all changes can be undone with a single command. The tool includes dumbtv home, a minimal launcher showing only apps, HDMI inputs, and a clock. It works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and Gemini coding agents, or can be run manually via command line. Setup takes about ten minutes and has been tested on 22 TV models.
