DD Photos is an open-source tool for creating fast, mobile-friendly photo galleries that you host yourself. Export photos from any source, generate optimized WebP images and metadata, then deploy a static site to any server. It includes a desktop app for ease of use and supports syncing directly from Immich photo managers.
The gallery displays albums on a home page with dark/light theme switching, grid views of photos and videos, full-screen viewing with captions, and smooth swiping navigation. The maker built it with Claude Code to span Go CLI tools, SvelteKit frontend, Docker deployment, and automated testing.
