Cicada is a free, open-source macOS application that captures system audio and provides real-time bilingual captions, simultaneous interpretation, and structured meeting notes. It works with Zoom, Teams, Feishu, Tencent Meeting, Google Meet, X Spaces, YouTube Live, Twitch, Discord, and other apps—no bot required and audio stays on your device. Users can hold the right Option key to speak in Chinese and have their words automatically translated and transmitted to others via a virtual microphone. Built with Claude Code, it processes speech-to-text and language detection locally, sending only transcribed text for translation and note generation. Meeting records, transcripts, and notes export to Markdown, Word, or SRT format.
