Vela is an open-source mobile prototype that enables contactless payment requests, self-custodial wallet management, and passkey access on the Stellar testnet. Built with Expo and React Native, it lets users prepare payment requests containing their Stellar public address, asset, amount and expiry, then share them over NFC. The wallet implements Stellar account primitives including keypair generation with secure storage, testnet onboarding via Friendbot, balance tracking through Horizon, and USDC trustline management. The backend runs on NestJS, with send/settlement integration still in development.
