Spotifast
Lightweight native Spotify client for Linux, macOS, and Windows
Visit spotifast.rocks ↗What is Spotifast?
Spotifast is a fast, memory-efficient Spotify desktop client built in Rust with egui. It launches in under a second and typically uses 100–250 MB of RAM, compared to Spotify's official app which often consumes 600 MB to over 1 GB. The app offers library browsing, search, playlist management, and Spotify Connect playback control across devices.
Features include a classic Winamp-style mini player with skins and animations, MilkDrop visualizations with over 10,000 presets that react to music, keyboard shortcuts, desktop theme integration, and an equalizer. Playback requires Spotify Premium. The project is open source and built on fastframe, a shared foundation for native Rust applications.
