spar-kit

spar-kit is a repo-native workflow system designed to help AI agents and developers collaborate more effectively. It provides a structured four-phase approach: Specify (clarify goals), Plan (create explicit sequences), Act (implement with validation), and Retain (preserve decisions as project memory). The framework installs via npm and works with multiple AI platforms including Cursor, Claude, Copilot, and others.

The system includes skill-guided workflows, agent rules that keep AI aligned without excessive instructions, a local tool index so agents understand available commands, and a spec structure for tracking changes from intent through completion. After installation, users run spar-init to index their repository's tools, reducing token usage and improving agent decision-making by eliminating environment guessing.
