SOMA is a free desktop CAD application that lets you describe a part and have a coding agent write parametric CadQuery models to build it. You provide design direction, review the 3D result, and iterate by pointing out changes—the agent modifies the code accordingly. It works with Claude Code, OpenCode, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI and similar agents. The app includes a code editor with Git version history, a 3D viewer with measurement and markup tools, and export to STEP, STL and 3MF formats. Built for makers and tinkerers who need quick parts without learning traditional CAD software.
