scriptc
TypeScript-to-native compiler producing small, fast binaries without Node or V8
Visit scriptc.dev ↗What is scriptc?
scriptc compiles ordinary TypeScript into native executables for macOS, Linux, Windows, and WebAssembly. The compiler uses the real TypeScript type checker and produces binaries as small as 320KB that start in ~4ms, with no JavaScript engine embedded by default. It's designed for developers who want to ship standalone native applications from TypeScript source code.
The tool uses a three-tier system: code compiles statically to native by default, optional `--dynamic` mode embeds a JavaScript engine (~620KB) for npm dependencies or untyped code, and everything else fails at compile time with specific errors. scriptc provides coverage reports showing exactly which code compiles statically and which requires the dynamic tier, with no silent miscompilation.
