Margins
Local AI notebook that records, transcribes, and connects meeting notes
Visit getmargins.live ↗What is Margins?
Margins is a local-first tool for capturing and organizing meeting conversations. It records audio from both participants, transcribes it locally, and aligns your real-time notes with what was actually said. The tool then distills these notes into structured entries connected to your existing knowledge base, such as Obsidian vaults.
Designed for people who take notes during calls, interviews, and 1:1s, Margins prioritizes what you wrote down as signals of what mattered. It runs as a ~5MB Rust binary without requiring cloud uploads or accounts. The maker built it with Claude Code to handle the distillation step, which searches your vault semantically and creates output that reads like your own thinking rather than a generic summary.
