Loop Engineering
Design systems that orchestrate AI coding agents around codebases
Visit cobusgreyling.github.io ↗What is Loop Engineering?
Loop Engineering is a pattern library and CLI toolkit for building automated workflows that coordinate AI coding agents like Claude, Grok, and Codex around software projects. Instead of prompting agents manually for each task, developers design loops—repeatable systems that discover work, delegate to agents, verify results, and maintain state across runs.
The project provides eight production-ready patterns (daily triage, PR babysitting, dependency sweeping, changelog drafting, and others), five core primitives (scheduling, worktrees, skills, connectors, and sub-agents), and interactive tools to initialize and audit loops. Week one operates in report-only mode, letting teams observe agent behavior before enabling autonomous changes. The CLI includes `loop-init`, `loop-doctor`, and `loop-cost` commands to set up and manage loops across different AI coding tools.
