Lemmings in HTML-in-Canvas
Classic Lemmings game rebuilt with HTML-in-Canvas and WebGL

A modern reconstruction of the classic Lemmings puzzle game using the experimental HTML-in-Canvas API. Each lemming is a real DOM element rendered directly into the canvas while retaining native mouse hit-testing and accessibility. The game includes 22 levels with various lemming types—diggers, floaters, miners, climbers, bashers, bombers, and builders—each with unique abilities needed to solve puzzles.
The implementation uses a DOM-based Entity-Component-System architecture and includes historically accurate audio modes (Adlib, Tandy, PC Speaker) and graphics variants (EGA, CGA, Tandy). The maker reports building it with Claude Code using Sonnet 5 High to accelerate development.
