LearnBuddy

LearnBuddy is an AI-powered learning system that creates tailored study plans through conversational interaction. Users describe what they want to learn, receive a baseline assessment via 3–5 adaptive questions, then get a 4–24 week personalized roadmap with daily guidance on what to study and review. The system covers any domain: languages, programming, nutrition, writing, career transitions, and more.

The platform offers two deployment modes: a cloud version for trying the full product, and a personal mode for long-term use with your own LLM API key and local data storage. It includes five core mechanisms: a conversational engine, instant baseline evaluation, personalized path generation, spaced-repetition review scheduling, and weekly self-checks with dynamic replanning. The project describes itself as built with Python, FastAPI, SQLite, and OpenAI-compatible LLMs.
