HyCanvas

HyCanvas is a design tool for creating social graphics, presentations, videos, whiteboards, documents, and print materials without paywalls or watermarks. The project describes itself as a free, self-hostable, AI-native alternative to Canva. It offers a single-player editor with multiple document types, export capabilities, and customizable AI features through a bring-your-own-key model. All designs are stored in an open portable format that can be downloaded as JSON or exported to PNG, PDF, and other formats.

The platform runs entirely in the browser and can be deployed on your own infrastructure or used as a cloud service. Every feature is included from day one with no trial expiration or credit card required. According to build evidence, the project was developed using Claude for code assistance.
