Fractetris
Infinite nested Tetris games where every pixel plays itself
Visit thiagolira.blot.im ↗What is Fractetris?
Fractetris is an interactive recreation of Game Boy Tetris with a fractal twist. The main game runs faithfully to the original 1989 code, but every single pixel of the screen is simultaneously a complete, playable Tetris game—23,040 in total running in parallel on your GPU. Each micro-game is tinted by its pixel's color, forming the image of the larger game. Zoom in to see individual boards; zoom out to watch them reassemble into the full screen. The fractal continues infinitely in both directions.
Players can control the main game with keyboard inputs or explore the nested worlds through mouse zooming and panning. The creator says the project was coded with Claude Fable, combining a C/WASM version of the game logic with GLSL shaders that implement the original assembly code, all controlled by AI players making virtual inputs.
