firela is a minimalist, self-hosted financial advisor designed for people pursuing financial independence and early retirement (FIRE). It consists of two components: firela-bot, an AI advisor that analyzes your spending and income to deliver personalized FIRE insights, and firela-app, a Beancount-based ledger for tracking finances with complete privacy.
The system automates billing ingestion from sources like Plaid, Gmail, and GoCardless, then exports data to Beancount, Ledger, or CSV formats. firela-bot deploys to Cloudflare Workers on the free tier (100K requests/day), keeping your financial data private and under your control. According to the project, it was built using Claude for development.
