BranchBox
Isolated development environments for parallel work by humans and AI agents
Visit branchbox.dev ↗What is BranchBox?
BranchBox is an open-source tool that creates fully isolated, provisioned development environments for each feature or task. Built in Rust, it solves the collision problem that arises when multiple developers or AI agents work in parallel—preventing Git branch conflicts, Docker port clashes, database data leaks, and credential scattering. Each environment gets its own worktree, devcontainer, Docker network, database, and ports.
Designed for modern engineering workflows where humans and AI agents collaborate on multiple features simultaneously, BranchBox ensures that one workspace cannot interfere with another. The maker indicates it was built with Claude Code. Installation is available via Homebrew for macOS or a shell script for Linux and macOS, with full documentation and an MIT license.
