AtomCode

AtomCode is a terminal-based AI coding agent that autonomously reads files, edits code, runs commands, and verifies changes. The project describes itself as an open-source alternative to Claude Code and Cursor Agent. It supports any OpenAI-compatible LLM including Claude, OpenAI, DeepSeek, and others, with first-class support for Chinese language models. Built in Rust, the codebase is entirely AI-generated.

The agent operates through a smart loop: it reads your codebase, makes edits, executes tests, and self-verifies work until tasks are complete. Features include multi-step autonomous execution, plan and build modes for exploration or full editing, code review capabilities, and 21 built-in tools spanning file operations, shell commands, web access, and code graph analysis for understanding references and dependencies.
