Agent Exchange (AX) is a local routing system that lets multiple AI coding agents communicate and coordinate tasks on your machine. It works with Claude Code, Codex, Grok Build, OpenCode, and Pi, allowing each agent to maintain its own terminal session while exchanging messages about work in progress.
The broker and mailbox run locally with no cloud relay or telemetry. Agents keep their native UIs, model choices, and existing conversations while gaining the ability to ask each other questions, share results, and hand off work. Installation is straightforward via shell script for macOS, Linux, and WSL 2.
