YT Zero
Self-hosted YouTube inbox for subscriptions without recommendations
Visit ytzero.app ↗What is YT Zero?
YT Zero is a self-hosted application that replaces YouTube's algorithm-driven feed with a calm, chronological inbox of videos from channels you choose. It requires no Google account, API key, or login, storing all data—subscriptions, watch history, playlists, and preferences—locally on your own server using SQLite or PostgreSQL.
Designed for individuals and households, YT Zero lets you triage videos like email (watch, schedule, archive, or reject) and set intentional viewing schedules. Features include progress tracking, SponsorBlock integration, picture-in-picture, offline downloads via yt-dlp, separate user profiles with optional parental controls, and a "Watch Together" mode for shared instances. The project is AGPL open-source and deployable via Docker.
