Vibe
A programming language designed for humans and AI to reason about code together
Visit vibe-lang.org ↗What is Vibe?
Vibe is a Scheme-based programming language built on LLVM that prioritizes transparency in human–AI collaboration. It implements R7RS Scheme through macro expansion, where every language feature that can be expressed as a macro is, leaving only a minimal set of primitive forms implemented natively. This design makes program structure fully inspectable and understandable.
The language pairs its macro system with a binding registry containing plain-language descriptions of every function, variable, macro, and type. This allows AI models to understand both the structure and meaning of programs without relying on implicit assumptions. The creator built Vibe using Cursor, an AI coding tool, and describes it as a self-hosted implementation that compiles to native machine code via LLVM bitcode.
