Very Good Metronome

Very Good Metronome is a streamlined iOS app designed for musicians who need reliable timing during practice. It launches instantly, maintains rock-solid tempo without drift, and runs in the background while you play. The interface prioritizes simplicity: tap to set tempo, choose from multiple metronome sounds, and optionally enable visual beat feedback for noisy environments.

Core features are free forever, including practice mode with beat accents and progressive tempo increases. An optional one-time purchase unlocks custom time signatures for jazz and progressive music practice. The maker rebuilt this app using AI coding tools after the original version faded over 13 years ago, maintaining the minimalist design philosophy throughout.
