Tagr is a self-hosted web application for browsing, playing, and editing music file metadata. It provides a three-panel interface where users can navigate their music library, listen to tracks, and modify tags directly from any browser on desktop or mobile devices. The project was built using Next.js, React, Prisma, SQLite, and node-taglib-sharp.
The tool supports editing 40+ metadata fields including title, artist, album, year, genre, composer, BPM, and lyrics, plus custom tags beyond standard fields. Additional features include album art management, star ratings, an interactive waveform player with ListenBrainz scrobbling support, full change history with revert capability, advanced filtering and sorting across all fields, and play count tracking.
