remem
Local-first memory server for Claude Code and OpenAI Codex sessions
Visit majiayu000.github.io ↗What is remem?
remem is an open-source Rust CLI and MCP server that solves session amnesia for AI coding agents. It automatically captures project context, design decisions, and bug-fix rationale, then retrieves and injects relevant memories into new Claude Code or Codex sessions without manual re-explanation. The tool uses SQLCipher encryption, hooks into agent workflows, and provides search across four retrieval channels including BM25, entity indexing, and temporal parsing.
Designed for developers doing long-running coding work, remem stores memories locally with project-scoped isolation and source attribution. It runs as a single Rust binary on localhost, accessible via MCP, CLI, and REST API. The maker built it with Claude Code.
