Reasonix
Open-source AI coding agent you can leave running locally
Visit reasonix.io ↗What is Reasonix?
Reasonix is an open-source coding agent designed to handle long autonomous tasks while remaining auditable and controllable. It runs as a single Go binary with no external runtime, offering four interfaces: terminal, desktop app, web browser, and editor integration via ACP. The agent prioritizes safety through plan-first mode, per-tool-call permissions, workspace sandboxing, and per-turn checkpoints that let you rewind any step without affecting git history.
Built for developers who want to delegate coding work to AI while maintaining oversight, Reasonix is configured through TOML files and supports multiple AI providers including DeepSeek. It's MIT licensed and local-first—your code stays on your machine, and you bring your own API keys. The project includes both a stable 1.x maintenance line and an active 2.x development branch with new architecture.
