ra-jit
Rebuild Rust projects in milliseconds after edits, with live code updates
Visit ra-jit.ix.dev ↗What is ra-jit?
ra-jit is a build tool that speeds up Rust development by keeping projects compiled in memory and recompiling only changed functions after edits. On supported platforms, it delivers 10–17× faster rebuilds than incremental cargo builds on real projects like ripgrep and nushell. Programs can opt in to receive new code while running, with state preserved across updates.
Designed for Rust developers working on performance-sensitive projects. Requires Rust 1.99.0, macOS Apple silicon or Linux (x86-64/ARM64), and several GB of spare memory. Built with Claude Code and based on rust-analyzer.
