Quakelike
Play Quake in your browser with procedurally generated levels and visual effects
Visit leereilly.net ↗What is Quakelike?
Quakelike brings the classic 1996 shooter to the web, compiled to WebAssembly for instant play without installation. The game features procedurally generated levels that create new room layouts, textures, monster placements, and working doors after each level, adding replayability to the original experience. Players can apply live palette filters (Red Hot, Synthwave, Matrix), toggle CRT or ASCII visual effects, and capture screenshots or GIFs of their runs.
Built with GitHub Copilot and Claude Opus, the project includes a drop-down console for command entry, a live minimap with shareable challenge links, SoundCloud integration for custom soundtracks, and multi-language support. The interface offers one-click sharing to social platforms and uses the freely redistributable shareware data files.
