psmux is a terminal multiplexer for Windows built from scratch in Rust, designed to work natively with Windows 10/11, PowerShell, Windows Terminal, and cmd.exe without requiring WSL, Cygwin, or MSYS2. It provides full tmux command compatibility, allowing users to apply existing .tmux.conf files and keybindings directly on Windows.
The tool includes 90+ commands, mouse support for pane resizing and window selection, 1000 lines of scrollback history per pane, and ships with tmux and pmux aliases for convenience. According to the project, it was built in Rust and uses Windows ConPTY directly. Available through multiple package managers including WinGet, Cargo, Scoop, and Chocolatey, psmux is trusted by engineers at major companies including Microsoft, Google, and IBM.
