OpenWriter
Open-source markdown editor where AI agents draft and you approve every change
Visit openwriter.io ↗What is OpenWriter?
OpenWriter is a markdown-native editor designed for collaborative writing between humans and AI agents. Your agent drafts content in your voice, and you review each change—green inserts, blue rewrites, red deletes—accepting or rejecting with keyboard shortcuts. Documents save as plain Markdown files with no database lock-in, working with any MCP-compatible agent like Claude, Cursor, or Codex.
The tool supports writing novels (with chapters, parts, and character tracking), X threads and articles, and newsletter content. It integrates with Google Drive, Docs, and Notion to pull fragments into organized workspaces. The maker built it with Claude Code.
