Open Agents
Cloud-based coding agents that run infinitely in isolated sandbox environments
Visit open-agents.dev ↗What is Open Agents?
Open Agents is an open-source reference application for building and deploying autonomous coding agents on Vercel. Users describe what to build, and agents work independently until complete, with full access to filesystem, network, and runtime tools. The system separates agent logic from sandbox execution, allowing agents to run as durable workflows that survive restarts and automatically commit work to git.
Built on Vercel's ecosystem (AI SDK, Gateway, and Sandbox), the platform provides multi-model support, ephemeral environments with auto-hibernation, and resumable agent loops with automatic checkpointing. Each session runs in an isolated cloud sandbox with its own git branch, eliminating the need to keep a local machine running.
