Miru

Miru is a code search tool designed for agentic IDEs that helps AI agents find relevant code snippets using semantic understanding rather than pattern matching. It integrates via MCP (Model Context Protocol) with Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, and other AI coding assistants, returning ranked code chunks instead of dumping entire files into prompts.

The tool runs locally on your machine with an optional embedding API for faster performance, maintaining privacy by never logging queries or code. Installation takes under two minutes, and users can benchmark token savings directly within their IDE. Miru was built with Cursor.
