Maxxmod is a Chrome extension designed for YouTube enthusiasts who want granular control over their viewing experience. It offers over 60 customization options accessible from a unified control panel, including the ability to hide Shorts and recommendations, set default playback speed and quality, and add tools like screenshot and Picture-in-Picture functionality.
The extension lets users customize multiple areas of YouTube beyond the player itself—search results, channel pages, subscriptions feed, and more. Features include a mini player for scrolling, chronological subscriptions view, and controls to hide comments or the sidebar independently. The creator built it with Codex and plans to release a Firefox version.
