jcode
Open-source AI coding agent for the terminal, written in Rust
Visit jcode.sh ↗What is jcode?
jcode is a terminal-based AI coding agent designed to maximize developer productivity through parallelism. Built in Rust and MIT-licensed, it enables users to run dozens of agents simultaneously, allowing multiple coding tasks to progress in parallel rather than sequentially. The tool emphasizes resource efficiency, using significantly less RAM than comparable alternatives while providing features like durable memory, background task execution, and agent swarms.
The project prioritizes the quality of its AI harness—the tools, context, memory, and feedback loops surrounding the model—as equally important to model capability itself. It includes inline image rendering, LaTeX support, structured edit blocks, and a native TUI interface. jcode was built with Claude Code, according to repository metadata.
