Open Microsoft Office files from Finder directly in Google Docs with one click

Glint is a macOS utility that lets you open .docx and .xlsx files directly in Google Docs and Google Sheets from Finder. Instead of manually uploading files through Google's interface, you can double-click a document or use the context menu to instantly open it in your Google account. The app stores metadata on the file so subsequent opens go straight to the same Google document without re-uploading.
Designed for users who prefer Google Workspace over Microsoft Office or Apple's productivity apps, Glint supports multiple Google accounts and can be set as your default handler for Office files. The maker reports building it with Claude Code and Codex, agentic AI coding tools that helped overcome the complexity of Google Docs APIs and macOS UI programming.
